Alan, I still take a gander at this site now and then but there sure isn't much being added. At this stage in life, I just wish that someone would have kept up on who is no longer with us.

Does anyone look here anymore? I have not seen any new comments for a long time. Any interest in a 55 reunion of some sort?

Hi everyone.  I like to drop into this site every once in a while just to catch up a little and relive old times.  This is a great site, a part of our history and  and I hope it doesn't just go away.  I wish the memorials were a a little more up to date though.  Hope everyone is well. Still kicking and screaming, Bert

Wow! Where did fifty years go? My last reunion attendance was the 20th. I had planned to go to 50th, but Vegas vacation got in the way! I've really enjoyed the Ike website and am amazed at how everyone has matured so nicely! Keep me posted via email for any mini reunions.

Hello--a voice from our past.  I'm looking forward to seeing you all this month, thanks to the encouragement of several of our mutual friends.  In a nutshell,  I've lived outside of Washington for a long time, but relocated to Mill Creek a year and a half ago.  Long story.  Medium-sized nutshell:  After college, I lived in Pullman, Ohio,  then Tacoma, Omaha, Japan, South Dakota, and now back home.  First marriage ended in divorce; second marriage ended as a widow 6 years ago.  Worked in healthcare fields of medical record administration and quality assurance for over 35 years, now retired.  Two children,  four grandchildren plus three honorary grandchildren.

FYI, I registered  for our reunioin as Mildred (Reich) Gabeline.  Yes, it's out now--my first name is Mildred.  And my parents figured out not to use it just in time!  Just letting you know in case you wondered who Mildred was.  :)

Extend by one day on either end of current dates. This will enable some to be there that may not within the current constraints. Also, those with less constraints can play for another day.Seems Friday-Sunday needn\'t dictate the event. This is fifty years ya know?

Hey, I haven't checked this site for a while.  I still think it's an great site.  It always brings back some great memories when I do visit.  Just wondering if anyone else still stops in now and then.
I sure would like to see an update of the list of who is no longer with us.  I know Glen Cassidy passed away last year.  I hope everyone is doing great as we begin to slip into retirement.

yes Bert, I keep an eye on this site. I am the web page keeper.   I do update the memorial page. Gary Tilley lives in Yakima and watches the obituaries.   People living outside of Yakima might be missed.   Time to think about planning the 50 reunion.  Apparently they are well attended.  :)

Bill Ratcliffe, Pat Jefferies and I had lunch the week after the 45th reunion.  After talking awhile Bill said what I had thought one of us eventually would say.  Bill said "we used to talk about hot chicks, now all we have talked about are our health problems and pills".  Where has our youth gone?

I just returned from a lovely afternoon in Sequim to celebrate the wedding of Gary Poor and Annette Sebastian- they became better friends thanks to our 40th reunion. They had the best music I can remember at a wedding, and the crowd who ventured onto the dance floor were terrific. Good food, champagne, good friends, good music. See Special Events 2011 for a few photos.Congratulations and Best Wishes to the beautiful bride and and handsome groom.Barb

September 2011 has passed forever.  But, there are tales to tell, and memories shared that titilate.  Yakima warmed and delighted us.  The Fair was full of simple pleasures and sights from long ago.  Who remembers the ride that travels OVER the Fairgrounds.  I had forgotten about it, but remember looking up as a small child and feeling awed by it\'s height!  The little train with it\'s steam whistle and conductor is no longer there, but lives on in many hearts.  And as for the rest of it, mostly as I remember, rigged games and big stuffed animals, horses, and pigs, and cows, and the food.  WE elected not to ride the bucking bull, but might next year.  We talked into the wee hours of the morning, and listened, and drank good wine, and laughed.  Gilberts Cellars was out of white wine ?  I missed the picnic, but someone went, and those someones can tell us how much food was left over.  So thank you to those who came, it was a great weekend in Yak City.  I didn\'t even drive out to Eisenhower.
And to top it all off, Gary Poor and Annette Sebastian announced that they are going to be married.  How cool is that?  They connected at the reunion, and things have worked out wonderfully for them I think.  Thanks for letting us share your luck!

From Ted Poston
Chuck Glass came up with a good idea of what to do with the money that was given to me at the picnic  - give it to a food bank.  everybody that responded said they were good and to keep the money -so here is what I did.  I squared up with GAry and Annette when we went Kayaking.  Callie, Sue and Barb, If I overlooked something please let me know and I will address it.  remember, i had a 60 dollar reward check from costco to cover most of my costs.

I sent three checks to three different food banks

Bremerton Food Line
1600 12th Street
Bremerton, WA 98337-1320

Helping Hands Food Bank
250 West Moore Street
Sedro Woolley, WA 98284

Yakima Food Bank
 Southeast Yakima Community Center
 1211 South 7th Street
 Yakima, WA 98901

each donation was accompaned with the following letter addressed to the food bank identifying individuals that had out of pocket expenses but were concerned about matyrdom and told me to keep it.  I sent 20 to Bremerton in KOH\'s name (ice and Sausage warmers), 40 to Sedro Wooley in Chuck and Billie\'s name (chicken), and 40 to Yakima in Denise Gossett\'s name (rental, supplies, and a hell of a lot of leg work).  The text of the three letters follows.  I asked that they acknowldege the contributions in your name with a donation letter that you can use for taxes.  I am holding on to the remaining 40 for our companies food drive this fall so my technicla group can get credit.

I consulted with my psychoanalyst befroe taking this action and she approved it for my mental health.
Hope all is well with everyone  Callie - good luck in Florida - If they ever make Flying string ball an olympic event we can enter in the mixed doubles bracket

cheers

Dear Sir or Madam,

On behalf of the Gooey Duck Nine, I am bequeathing to the Bremerton Food Bank the sum of $20.00 in the name of Karen Osborne Hanson. This money was donated at the Ike High 41st Reunion Picnic to cover costs of the picnic and the Principles of the Gooey Duck Nine Organizing Committee decided to donate it to the food banks. As the Fiduciarial Officer of the Gooey Duck Nine (self appointed), I am distributing the funds to Food Banks in the regional communities where those graduates of Eisenhower High School now resided.

You can acknowledge this contribution by sending a note (stamp included) of appreciation to:

Thank you for doing all you do for your community.

Alan is so right! I am still grinning as I look at the photos I took. I see I have a lot to learn about taking photos where both sun and glare are involved but I got some good ones of the boys in hula skirts and bikini tops so stay tuned for more in the photo areas once I have time to upload them. Thanks to Denise, Chuck, Annette,Ted, Callie, Karen, the funnest and funniest picnic I\'ve ever been too. The BBQ was incredible and I loved seeing everyone both at the picnic and the wine cellar. Special thanks to Ed Scheibner for "Magic Bars".  You might think that implies some illegal ingredient. Nope! Just his own special recipe for treats that are out of this world.  Thanks again to the committee. We are already brainstorming ideas for next year so tell your Ike friends to stay in close touch. The 2010 mini reunion was great!!  I had not been to one since 1989.  If there is one in 2011, I will be there!   A special thanks to those that made the extra effort to come from across the country; Georgia, Utah, California, Montana and all parts of Washington.  I apologize that more locals did not show and if there is one in 2011, I will try to recruit more.

We talked and laughed about many old memories and things done in days long past.

Grade school was over 50  years ago and we could still remember most names from the class pictures and bonded with those classmates that came.  Hope to see more members in 2011.  Alan

Here\'s a date for Gary and Annette - how about on the 17th of July at the picnic . The class can share it with you two . Ron Mclean can officiate if he has credentials in Wash. . Just a crazy thought as we all have them at times . Congrats regardless you two . That is too bad about Davey Crocket as I just had a flintlock rifle made like his and will use it this fall maybe depending on the hunt permits I draw . I will bring a tray of venison and elk summer sausage and pepperoni that we make with the help of Ellen\'s brother to add to the food at the picnic .  Later classmates .    Bill

Greetings,Denise Hunter ( excuse the "maiden" names. I can\'t remember all the new names), Karen Osborn,Sue Bradley, Annette Sebastian, Callie Wheat, Gary Poor, Ted Poston and Chuck and Billie Glass had soul food lunch in Everett and planned a picnic and BBQ in a city park Denise has reserved. Ted will be bringing hula hoops, gooey ducks and we will play some fun games, and if the planning lunch is any indication, laugh a whole lot. I\'ve added a few photos and want to say Congratulations to Gary Poor and Best Wishes to his future bride, Annette Sebastian.  No date  yet but some sweet photos in the SEE ME NOW section.

Hello IKE People,

With the IKE gathering planned in Yakima Sat July 17 I wanted to reach out and see if we could put together some golf on Friday and/or Sat AM with anyone who would be there and interested.  Bill Ratcliffe will be there and told me he would enjoy some golf with “The Boys” etc., so I would like to help get the ball rolling. Maybe we can put together a few foursomes and make it official. If you would be interested please let me know, and I will help to see what we can put together. I will also let you know who says they will make it if I get any replies. I have email addresses for Ratcliffe, Sherfey, Burd, Tweten, McNeal, Dillon, Forrester, Gilbert, Nelson, Lochrie and Callie. If any of you have access to Drumhiller, Van Rooy, Grogan or anyone else who may be interested please let them know. I’m sure there are more, but this is the best my senile old brain can come up with right now.

Laughter & Light,

Davy Crockett died today.  Who else had a coonskin hat, Davy suit and toy rifle?  I did and I still remember most of the song.  Brings back a lot of nostalgic thoughts for me, days we only worried about having fun with no responsibilities.

As a Stattler brothers song says- life gets complicated when you get past 18.

I just looked over all the old pictures again from the 30th and 40th. They still make me grin. I had a lot of fun and am looking forward to the picnic.good BBQ and good company. Now that I see Steve Dockter is coming I will bring along an extra set of clothing. I laughed so hard at his story of how he cleared a German movie theater single handedly  in the middle of the movie Jaws I thought I would explode. You really should ask him to tell that story. Barb

My first reunion. What a blast.
I really enjoyed seeing people after all these years.
Barb and I talked about greeting every single classmate, especially the ones we didn't know well.
There just wasn't enough time to greet everyone so the idea of more frequent get togethers is a good one.
Nice to see everyone and look forward to speaking with more of you next time.
Please post a profileon the Revised Reville and stay in touch.

Altho I didn't graduate from Ike, I have many fond memories of my Wilson and Nob Hill days and the friendships made.  After "40 years" I was brave enough to venture back to Yakima where I thoroughly enjoyed attending the 40th reunion and reconnecting with "dear friends" who haven't really " changed" that much!  Still a great group!

Thanks to everyone who showed up in such great form. I am still rushing with the memories of Friday and Saturday. I never knew Steve Dockter was so funny! I simply remembered him as a very good and dear friend. I enjoyed my time with each of you. I also missed the folks who weren't there. It isn't going to ever be too late to add yourselves to the guest book, Revised Reveille. We plan to keep this website going for the next 10 years so make it easier on the planning committee for our 50th! It will be a good way to stay in touch over the years too. Thanks for making this reunion such a pleasure. Barb

Now that the reunion is over, I’m not sure what happens to this site. Does it get folded up and stuffed in a box somewhere or does it live on along with our memories?  Whichever is the case, I just want to say that wondering through these pages has been, for me, a fun and wonderful journey through all of those old times we shared.
Although I chose not to join everyone at the reunion, because let’s face it, I’m still not the social butterfly that I’d like to be, this site has really touched my heart and brought back memories of some impressionable times. Thanks everyone for contributing and thanks Barb and Sue and everyone else who helped to organize everything.

I've been procrastinating, so blame it on work and age. Plan on attending Friday night function, also great beer and wine at Bob's Keg and Cork just down the block from the venue. If you golf on Saturday, bring lots of balls, three water holes and a tall rough. Also be prepared, the course received alot of flood damage this spring, but course is coming along. Can't attend Saturday night, but want to Thank commitee for all the hard work. Please travel and arrive safe. Jerry

Thanks Sue and Barb for all the hard work. It sounds like fun, unfortunately I will be visiting friends in Oslo, Norway. Have fun, I guess we will meet again at 45 or 50 years when we are a little bit grey with a little less hair and maybe we will have a memory.

"Vic" is the head custodian. If you desire to go inside, look for him or one of the other personnel there.
Stacey Locke is the current principal. She will not be on campus.
Beers are on me at the James Gang Tavern on South 3rd  Avenue. South of Washington Ave.
You must show ID in the form of your old ASB card or have a copy of the Reveille w/ you.

Pomegranate Cosmopolitan
2 cups (16oz) good Vodka
1 cup (8ox) orange liquer (Contreau, Triple Sec)
1 cup (8oz) pomegranate juice (Pom Wonderful)
1/2 cup freshly sqeezed lime juice (3 limes)
Lime peel strips, to garnish

Combine the vodka, orange liquer, pomegranate juice, and lime juice in a pitcher and refrigerate until ready to use.  Pour the mixture into frozen marini glasses with a twist of lime peel and serve immediately.  You can subsitute cranberry or cranraspberry juice for the Pom juice.  You can also use Roses Lime Juice instead of real limes.
Enjoy!

Many thanks to Scott Burd for the recent phone call advising about the reunion.  Barbra Hoggatt- your my favorite.  I (and my family) really laughed when we saw our 5th grade picture (Whitney Elementry School).  It's hard to believe we go back 48 years.  The web site is the best - I especially like music.  Have been in Columbus, Georgia since 1976 and have not attended prior reuinions.  Going to do my best to make this one.

We will determine the cost of tickets, and then put them up for sale on this website.  You can purchase them with a credit card.  Karen Osborn has been working on this website, behind the scenes, organizing and decorating.  She will "turn on" the page with ticket sales soon.  Tim Drumhiller is organizing a golf tournament on Saturday.

I just loaded more of the Annual.  I will finish today as John is getting tired of my memorabilia spread all over his office.
Pam I don't remember doing anything like you describe.
One more story, Anne McDonald and I were talking on the phone about great matters, like what are you doing on Saturday Night.  She said I'm going out with Bill Ratcliffe.  WELL, I said, so am I!  We were very good friends, and confirmed this.  We called Bill and said What's Up?  He was very embarrassed, and we said Theres only one thing to do.  We insisted that he follow through, and we went out on a date together, the three of us, in his mothers big blue station wagon, as big as all outdooors.  It was great.

How about the initiation rites for sopohmore girls from upper classwomen -- They picked us up and drove us to the Freezer.  They smashed eggs and flour in our hair and painted our faces with lipstick and greasy stuff -- we stood outside the Freezer and smiled through the greasey goo that they poured on our heads.  Does anyone else remember this little initiation ceremony?  I have full amnesia over whether or not I did this to the upcoming class when I was a junior!

I still can't believe that we had to wear dresses or skirts! Thank goodness I am now in a job where casual slacks, ankle boots and polar fleece vest, and raincoat are the order of the day! The first draft of the mailing list is ready. Soon we will be getting in touch with folks who have volunteered to help sleuth out current addresses and emails for our class mates. Nearly every one has changed at least their email address since 1999. Please pass along this website to friends you are in touch with. It's all prepaid from the balance of the 1999 reunion. It's free to sign the guest book, enter your Revised Reville update and any photos you are brave enough to upload. We are thrilled to hear from each new one of you. Barbara and Sue

Thanks Karen O for making the website "sexy".  It is very sixties.
I was reading what I myself wrote, asking for stories.  I was trying to think of a good one from 1969?  Does everyone remember what they did graduation night?  Funny how memories of yesterday are so ephemeral and 40 years ago I can remember what I thought and felt, said and did.  Vantage comes to mind.  Remember the "Bird" our underground newspaper?  I have a copy but can't find it yet.  The Freezer on Friday night, trying to figure out what to wear to the first day of school, How to break up?!  Steve Hatfield took me out on a date which was very unremarkable to both of us, and he asked me out again.  He wore a dark blue button down shirt with white buttons, and he said"  I always wear this shirt on my last date with a girl".  What could I say?
